Ever since leaving Instagram, I’ve felt my creativity reemerge.
Without being inundated with other people’s content, I’ve been able to connect to my own ideas with more ease.
Over the last 3 years, I’ve loved making my Intuitive Eating podcast, Shoulders Down. But a few months back, I noticed an inner whisper nudging me to create a podcast just for fun.
When I marinated on what the premise of the new show would be, I kept coming back to this piece I wrote last year.
The whole squirrel acorn metaphor felt like fertile ground for something more…
And that’s how Back To The Nest was born!
Back to the Nest is a monthly podcast where I sit down with a loved one to swap “acorns”— little tips and insights we’re currently leaning into. Acorns can be trivial things, like a fun new way to store earrings or a brand of clear lip gloss that tastes like vanilla and isn’t too sticky. But they can also be deeper nuggets of wisdom— lessons from therapy, profound song lyrics, or a tip to calm existential anxiety. Acorns are the things we gather along the way, and Back to the Nest is the place we share them with you.
As your host, I'm here to bring you sweet, “slice of life” conversations that will help you gather inspiration and infuse your days with fresh ideas.
The first episode is officially live on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts!
And in the spirit of exchanging acorns, here are mine right now:
What I’m reading: Currently reading Such A Fun Age by Kiley Reid and I’m loving it. I read her other book— Come And Get It— a few months ago fro my book club and loved it, and this book is just as good so far.
What I’m eating: This NYT cooking recipe, Creamy Spicy Beans & Greens is perfection with a crusty baguette and quite easy to make.
What I’m listening to: My current podcast rotation is:
Giggle Squad with Hannah Berner and Paige Desorbo. Love listening to 2 best friends talk shop, it’s peak girlhood.
Berner Phone with Des Bishop and Hannah Berner, I love their dynamic as a couple and it’s a nice light listen
Off The Grid with
, a rare business podcast that doesn’t feel icky or mansplain-ish. So soulful, creative, and refreshing.
What’s been inspiring me: I’m currently on a 2 week trip to visit family and friends on the east coast. I tend to be a home body, but every time I go on a trip I’m reminded how important it is to change scenery periodically.
I love this podcast idea Leah!! It’s in my cue up next. I share similar pulls to creative living and resisting the hustle and grind.
This is so exciting! Get it, Leah! Inspired!!!!
